Walsenburg orders replacement street lights from SEIA

 WALSENBURG — San Isabel Electric Company presented Mayor James Eccher and interim city administrator Lou Quigley with a bid to replace ten missing decorative lights along Main Street at a brief meeting Tuesday afternoon. The new decorative poles will resemble the current lights in downtown, but will sport new brighter LED bulbs. Over the years, many of the light poles along Main have either been struck by vehicles or knocked down by high winds. This order of ten replacement lights is a first step in relighting the business I-25/Hwy 160 corridor through Walsenburg. The city is working with Colorado Department of Transportations’s Walsenburg Pedestrian Project and a grant from Department of Local Affairs to improve lighting throughout the corridor. SEIA expects the ten new lights will be in place by the first of June, just in time for tourist season.
