Springer’s mayoral and town council race coming up soon

SPRINGER — In the small town of Springer, New Mexico, there’s an upcoming mayor and trustee council race to be held March 6, 2018. There are two positions up for election in the trustee council race, currently held by Timothy Trujillo and Rebeca Ramirez. Those vying for the trustee positions are Bill Jump, Rodney Hood, Rebecca Ramirez, Fernando Garcia, Tim Trujillo, Louella Portillos, and Anselmo Apodaca.

The mayor position is also up for grabs. The current mayor is Fernando Garcia, who is not running for re-election. Candidates running for mayor are Boe Lopez and Robert Portillos. This is a critical race for Springer and all residents are encouraged to make sure to get to the polls and vote. Stay tuned to the World Journal in the coming weeks for candidate profiles.
