Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Trinidad Chapter News Release

TRINIDAD — Over 200 people attended the 24th Annual Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Trinidad Chapter Banquet on Saturday June 2nd. Attendees took home a variety of Raffle and Auction Items including 14 firearms; Guided Bear, Turkey and Elk Hunts; a Horseback Fishing Trip; Overnight stay at the Bar NI Ranch; Multiple Household, Hunting and Personal Items. All the youth were awarded multiple items in free drawings, as were our Veterans and First Responders. Mr. C’s provided a quality meal including Ribeye Steaks and everyone went home with a full belly. The big winner at the banquet was local resident Karen Gowron who won the Take Down Marlin 45-70 Rifle from the Arm’s Room, a fully Tooled Leather Gun Case from Tumbleweed Saddle, a Damascus Knife from Stodghill Knifes and a 5 Day Black Bear Hunt donated by Trophy Hunting Adventures. The mission of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation is to ensure the future of elk, other wildlife, their habitat and our hunting heritage. With a quarter of a million members, over 500 chapters and over 11,000 volunteers; the RMEF works with state and federal land and wildlife agencies, private landowners, conservation groups, tribal leaders, corporations, foundations and local stakeholders to accomplish their mission. The RMEF has returned over $500,000 that has been raised from previous Trinidad Chapter Banquets and other funds for projects in Southern Colorado.
