WALSENBURG — Ryan Frazier, candidate for US Senate for Colorado, addressed the monthly meeting of the Huerfano County Republicans. He was raised by a single mother who worked two or three jobs to support Ryan and his two brothers. His mother instilled values of hard work and faith in God.

Ryan served in the US Navy as an intelligence analyst in many different locations around the world. He later served as a Councilman for the City of Aurora and helped balance the budget. Ryan also helped establish a charter school since he believes that a good education is very important for the future of our children. He also said that allowing businesses to create jobs by less regulations would help the economy. He also stressed that we need a strong military for our security.

In other business Commissioners Max Vezzani and Ray Garcia gave reports on the current road maintenance progress and their veteran recognition program. It is important to recognize the men and women that served our country. Another program they support is giving copies of the Constitution to the schools for each student.

Debi Sporleder and Marcy Freeburg, who  were delegates at the Republican Convention in Colorado Springs, reported the meeting was very respectful and that all delegates attending were elected at their county caucuses and meetings.

Freeburg ended the meeting reminding everyone that the Lincoln Day Dinner will be on July 23 this year.
