On Screen Advertising a new program at the Fox Theatre Walsenburg.

WALSENBURG — As you have likely heard, the new projector for the Fox Theatre is on it’s way, and we hope to celebrate our first showing with a free holiday classic movie following the Parade of Lights on November 24!

We will be inaugurating our new On Screen Marketing program with that showing and would like to invite each of you who have been such loyal supporters of the Fox to participate. The marketing program details follow below, for this initial run, we will be offering a discounted price of just $20, for the one night only.

We are looking for a simple message of congratulations, holiday cheer, or perhaps a memory of the Fox, accompanied by your business logo and information. You provide the message and logo; we will set it up. Please contact Mike with any questions:

We hope that businesses will find this to be an effective and affordable community marketing tool, and will consider adding a monthly, quarterly or yearly contract to their marketing budgets.

Moreover, most importantly, we hope that everyone in the community will join us for this exciting first showing on the 24th, to celebrate the theatre, the holidays and our community. We look forward to seeing you at the movies!

On screen advertising works! In recent polls, moviegoers reported sitting in their seats an average of 13 minutes before the movie began. In theaters with on screen advertising, 86% of moviegoers remembered seeing on-screen advertising before the movie started.

Broadband project seeks public input on Grant Application

HUERFANO COUNTY — In September 2017, AES, Inc. made application to the Colorado Broadband Fund for a grant to build out large areas of Huerfano County with high speed internet. The grant process allows for public comment and the Broadband Fund Committee considers community support a key element in the decision process whether the grant is awarded or not. To register your comments and/or support, the Colorado Broadband Fund Public Comments website can be found at—

Application: Rural Huerfano County Broadband Project Applicant: AES, Inc.

Established by the Colorado General Assembly in 2014—The Broadband Deployment Board provides grants through the Broadband Fund to deploy broadband service in unserved areas of the state. The Board will award $9.4million to select applicants this year. The Rural Huerfano County Broadband Project is one of only 14 applications being considered for funding this year.

John Galusha, Huerfano County Administrator commented “Affordable high speed Internet in Huerfano County contributes to the County in several ways, raises the economic wellbeing by creating jobs, helps us retain our workforce, and enhances the quality of life in our homes. We are very excited about the impact that the Rural Huerfano County Broadband Project will have on our community.”
