Arturo is our 10-year-old orange tabby domestic short hair cat.  He is a retired Colorado State University Laboratory study cat.  He was bred to be a lab cat and participated in a study during the first year of his life.  All the cats in the study were given names of famous jazz musicians.  Arturo owes his name to the famous jazz trumpeter, Arturo Sandoval, who defected from Cuba in 1990.
Arturo easily adjusted to becoming a house cat.  He’s a big boy, 14 pounds, yet not overweight for his large frame.  He is friendly but very cautious when he notices something out of place.  Our grand kids sometimes call him Artie and he loves to hang out with them.  He likes to hang out on the chair too!Owners: John and Sylvia Schwarz
