This is “Bear,” our Catahoula Leopard dog. He’s a cattle and hunting dog, and we thought he was a heeler mix, until several people told us what he really was. His grey/black spots are mainly all over his body, with black patches and the cutest, biggest black ears, with no tail! He’s funny when he howls, is very jealous of his sister Cleo, our old black lab, and always wants to go for a ride as you see in this picture. He was a birthday gift to Robert (because he wanted a heeler) and was acquired at Noah’s Ark Animal Shelter in Trinidad. Once I found out his name was “Bear” I had to have him in honor of the other two dogs we have had named “Bear.” When we got his medical records from the veterinarian and discovered he was born on our wedding anniversary, we knew we were meant to have this dog. He brings us great joy!
