TRINIDAD — A joint operation between the Trinidad Police Department and the FBI resulted in the arrest of a bank robbery suspect Tuesday night in Trinidad.
Seth Metz, 20, was arrested at approximately 11:30 pm November 14 at the Shell Service Station located at 9960 Santa Fe Trail at exit 11 off of I-25.
Trinidad police officers arrested Metz on a warrant for a bank robbery that occurred in Oklahoma, according to a press release from the Trinidad Police Department on Wednesday, November 15.
According to the press release, “The FBI contacted TPD to request assistance in arresting Metz. At the request of the FBI, TPD officers were in the area of the Greyhound bus stop because it was believed by the FBI Metz was traveling through Colorado on the bus.”
Trinidad officers saw Metz at the local bus stop and contacted him before he could board the bus. He was taken into custody without incident.
Metz was transported to the Las Animas County Jail and placed on a no bond hold.
Because he is being charged with federal crimes, including bank robbery, Metz will be transferred to the custody of US Marshals and will be held by federal authorities before his extradition to Oklahoma.
