Joseph Ralph Salas 6-12-1943 ~ 2-19-2018
Joseph Ralph Salas, known to friends as “Wolfie,” was born on June 12, 1943 to Adela “Della” Roybal Salas and George Salas in Walsenburg, CO.
He went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on February 19, 2018 at the Acute Center at Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, his brother Robert Salas, his sister Josie Salas Pineda, and nephew Earl Pineda.
He is survived by his siblings George (Priscilla) Salas, Rose (Jerry) Carter, Christine (Paul) Bobian, and family members he was raised with, Barbara (LeRoy) Trujillo, David Pineda, Margaret Pineda Younce, and Roberta Pineda Sanchez.
He will be forever remembered by his loving partner Jeanette, daughters Josie (David) Harriman, Esther (Joe) Hibpshman, and Veronica Salas.
A great joy he had in his life was spending time with his grandchildren, Samantha (Carlin) Pino, Jon (Jessica) Salas, Tim Encinias, Sissy (Jeremy) Salas, Zac Harriman, Rhea Hibpshman, Sarah Encinias, Thomas and Mitch Hibpshman.
However, his greatest joy was playing with his great-grandchildren, Tegan Pino, Kaysie Bobian, Morgan Salas, Sonny Valdez, Dylan Salas, Zaylnn Hibpshman, Helton Pino, and Myah Encinias.
A Rosary will be prayed on Monday, February 26, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church at 6 pm. A reception will follow the Rosary at 900 West Cedar Street in Walsenburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Ralph on Tuesday, February 27 at 10:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, followed by a graveside service. The reception will be held at the Eagles Hall.
