Vinnie Gay Smith 8-28-1925 ~ 7-27-2015 Vinnie Gay Smith, 89 years old, went to be with the Lord July 27, 2015. She was born August 28, 1925 in Crowl, TX to Sarah Gertrude and William Washington Odell. She was the ninth of ten children. She was passionate about cooking and sewing. Vinnie was preceded in death by her father and mother; eight siblings; her husband, Rupert Smith; her oldest son, Eddie Rosson; and her youngest daughter, Nancy Puls. She is survived by one sister, Eva Swift, of Colorado; two daughters, Beverly Perry of Utah and Sandra Moore of New Mexico; and one son, Marvin Thomas. Vinnie is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 12 great, great-grandchildren; Bobbie Jo Trujillo, of Walsenburg whom she considered a grand-daughter; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be Monday, August 3 at 3 pm in the Walsenburg Eagles Hall.
