Mary Alice (Tangney) Corsentino, 81, of Walsenburg, died January 30, 2019 in Pueblo, Colorado.

Mary Alice was born on November 21, 1938 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Maurice R. Tangney and Alice I. (Lawrence) Tangney.

She was raised in Shattuck and in 1945, the Tangney family moved from Oklahoma to Gardner, CO.

After graduation in 1956 from St. Mary’s High School in Walsenburg, CO, she married Andrew H. Corsentino on December 28, 1957 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gardner, CO.

They resided and raised a family in Walsenburg. As a homemaker, parent and farm wife, Mary Alice was always doing something. She worked as an Insurance Agent for the Farm Bureau Insurance Company from 1987 – 2006, and was a Teacher’s Assistant at John Mall High School from 1982 – 1986.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Walsenburg, CO, was on the Huerfano County Library Board and a 4-H leader in Huerfano County from 1968 through the late 1990’s.

She was an avid knitter and sewist which she shared and taught during her years as a 4-H leader. She led a club that focused on leadership, as well as, teaching home skills. Her favorites were the textile arts and culinary arts.

Upon further progression of illness, Mary Alice moved to Pueblo, CO until her death on January 30, 2019.

Mary Alice is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Paul A. Corsentino and brothers, Robert M. and Thomas J. Tangney. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Andrew H. Corsentino, her daughter, Abbie (Corsentino) Duroux of Canon City, CO, sons, Charles H. Corsentino of Pueblo and Mark A. Corsentino of San Antonio, TX., six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 9 at 10 am at the St. Mary Catholic Church with burial at the North St. Mary Cemetery, Walsenburg, CO. Reception will follow at Delaney Hall.
