Obituary Lawrence Rhuell Morris

Lawrence Rhuell Morris 5-27-1968 ~ 2-20-2014 Larry was born May 27, 1968 in Houston, Texas and passed away February 20, 2014 in San Diego, California. He was 45 at the time of his death. In his life, he had many loves and passions. He was a talented football player with a lifelong affinity for athletics. He had a brief career with the coast guard that formed his life-long passion of the ocean. Larry always dreamed of returning to the sea, to work in the Alaskan waters on a fishing vessel. He was beloved by everyone that knew him; you couldn’t help but to fall in love with his charming smile and easy laugh. A great practical joker, he constantly had people in stitches. Larry was an extremely bright man with a quick wit and a love for words. He was a prolific reader and a talented writer of poetry. He loved the movie, Papillon and was entranced by butterflies and their ability to change into something beautiful. Larry is survived by his two children, Ashley Morris and Landon Morris of Pensacola, FL; his granddaughter, Adalynn Morris of Pensacola, FL; his mother, Rhuell Lambert, of Walsenburg, CO; his brothers, James Morris of Walsenburg, CO, and Henry Morris, Jr. of Friendswood, TX; his sisters, Bonnie Ahl of La Crescenta, CA and Dorrie James of Columbus, TX; as well as many other family and friends. Larry was deeply loved and will be missed. “The perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.” 1 Cor 15:54
