Kenneth Lee Heikes 5-19-1957 ~ 9-26-2014 Kenneth Lee Heikes was born May 19, 1957 in Lawton, Oklahoma. He passed away September 26, 2014. Kenny was raised in La Veta and graduated in 1976 from La Veta High School. A long-time La Veta resident, he lived the past few years in Walsenburg. Kenny loved to hunt, fish and spend time in the mountains. Golfing was a favorite pastime. He is survived by his mother, Frankie Kerr, of La Veta; father, Walter Heikes, of Canon City; a son, Kristopher Heikes, of Grand Junction; and wife, Michelle Reaver, of Walsenburg. A memorial service with family and friends was held Sunday, September 28, 2014. GONE FISHING!
