Obituary Jerry D. Geiser, Sr

Jerry D. Geiser, Sr. 3-26-1942 ~ 7-16-2015 Jerry D. Geiser, Sr. of Gillette, Wyoming and former resident of La Veta, Colorado entered into rest peacefully, July 16, 2015, surrounded by his family. Jerry was born in Pueblo, CO on March 26, 1942 to John and Mildred Geiser. He was 73 years of age. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Marie of 52 years, his children Annette (Darrell Reagan), Jerry (Mindy), Laurie (Dave Mandarich), and Jeremy; brothers Jim (Leola), Chub (Julie), Jack, Joe (Angie) and Jeff (Nancy); loving grandchildren Taylin, Jaden, Logan, Rhiannon, Rex, Blake, Dawson, and Jocelyn; and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jeanette; and siblings, John and Judy. Big Jerry loved the Denver Broncos, riding Harleys, playing poker, and rolling the dice! Jerry loved dogs, kids, and people, and made friends everywhere he went. He loved watching old westerns, reading newspapers, and Johnny Cash. Jerry drove a semi-truck for his Dad’s company for many, many years. Then he ran the Triple G Truck Stop with his brother Joe and their wives. In 1991, Jerry moved to Gillette, WY to drive a haul truck at Cordero, where he retired in 2008. He always said, “I’ve driven further backwards than most people have forwards.” In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Jerry’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Gillette Council of Community Services. A service will take place at Christ the King Catholic Church in La Veta, CO, Friday, July 24, 2015 at 11:00 am. Online condolences can be made at johnsonromero.com.
