Obituary- J. Earl Tatman

J. Earl Tatman 9-19-1918 ~ 4-6-2014 J.Earl Tatman passed away on April 6, 2014 at the Colorado State Veterans Nursing Home near Walsenburg, CO. Born on a wheat farm near Boise City, OK to Ernest and Alice Tatman on September 19, 1918, Earl attended local schools and graduated from Plainview High School in 1938. He joined the US Air Force where he spent four years and was discharged in 1946. At that time, he moved to the Turkey Ridge area of Huerfano County and married Marjorie Huff. The couple farmed and ranched in the area and raised five children. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ben Tatman; two sisters, Florence Johnson and Esther Cole; and a son, Keith Tatman. He is survived by his wife and four children, Sherma (Jerry) Cundall of Wheatland, WY, Monty Tatman of Huerfano County, Tawn (Russ) Howe of Cheyenne, WY, and Virgil (Kristi) Tatman of Casper, WY; daughter-in-law Kathy Tatman of La Veta; eleven grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. Services will be at the United Church of Walsenburg on Saturday, April 12th at 11:00 am.
