Obituary- Gordon David McKedy

Gordon David McKedy
Dec. 9/21/2013
Gordon David McKedy, age 75, passed from this earth into the gates of Heaven at 12:45 am September 21, 2013. Our mother and Dad’s wife of 54 years, Phyllis Joyce Corsentino McKedy, his “Sug” Darlya Sue McKedy Campbell, and his “Dolly” Dee Ann McKedy MacBride held his hand, stroked his face, kissed him and said “Goodbye.” His eldest “girl” Debra Lynn McKedy Gottlieb was ministering abroad in Argentina.
Many fathers are blessed to be loved, and our father was blessed to be Adored! “Gor,” as we called him, was handsome, charming, witty, and absolutely hilarious! His gift of humor made everyone who experienced it laugh so hard they cried. His talents were many!
A brilliant musician, singer, mechanic, you name it he could do it! Our father “lived” for his grandchildren: Debra’s daughter Brandy Rose, Dee Ann’s son and first grandson Rian Gordon, and Darlya’s two that lit up his heart every week when he watched them, Evan David and Darby Quinn.
He also leaves behind his sisters June and JoAnn, and his brothers Jimmy, Michael, and Wendall. He joins his beloved parents Elja and Virginia McKedy, and his brother, who he adored, Tom McKedy.
His greatest peace was knowing all three of his girls married men who could love and handle his three “McKedy” girls: Aryea Gottlieb, Charles MacBride and Dave Campbell.
Our father’s passing from heart failure leaves us heartbroken and in pain beyond our imagination. Yet, we have the woman who made his heart completely full since the day he laid eyes on her, our beautiful mother Phyllis. Mom always asked God, “please let Gordon and I live to grow old together.” And, although 75 doesn’t seem so old anymore, to God it was for them. So, thank you God for choosing us to be his family. Thank you God for taking him as peacefully as you did, but most importantly thank you God for bringing Gordon David McKedy into this world. As his best friend Red Barry knew, “Mutt” was one of a kind.
A reception was held Wednesday, September 25 in Parker, CO. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Gordon McKedy Memorial Fund to help with expenses during this difficult time:
