Beverly Kay Kincaid 7/28/1936 ~ 2/11/2014 Beverly was born July 28, 1936, in California. She passed away in Las Vegas, NM on February 11, 2014, with friends at her side. Her beloved uncle Jack Coe survives her. Descended from Colorado pioneers, she called La Veta home. She received her B.A. from the college of Santa Fe and M.A. from St. John’s College. Of many jobs her work at St. John’s was her favorite. She was a writer, hiker, swimmer, avid reader and formidable Scrabble player. Courageously she declined treatment allowing bone cancer to carry her to a place of peace. Her ashes will be interred in the family plot at the Pioneer Cemetery East of La Veta (located one mile east on Valley Road… follow the flagging) on Saturday, May 3rd at 1pm. A light luncheon will follow the graveside service at Mt. View Baptist Church, 707 Main Street in La Veta. Memorial donations may be sent to M.C.S.
