Adam John “Jack” Smircich 10-20-1928 ~ 2-10-2018

Adam John “Jack” Smircich, 89, of Walsenburg, CO, passed away on Feb. 10, 2018 with his family by his side. He was born in Trinidad, CO to Adam John Smircich and Corine Garcia on Oct. 20, 1928.
He is survived by his children, Ray (Kay) Smircich of Pueblo, John B. (Sherrie) Smircich of Lowell, AR, Mearl Jane Smircich of Pueblo, Pearl (Matthew) Sandy of West Fork, AR, and Rodney (Carrie) Smircich of Rogers, AR, Saralynn (Wesley) Van Matre of Walsenburg, CO.
Adam was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Smircich of 72 years, on Jan. 5, 2018; and his son, Ronald R. Smircich Oct. 18, 1987.
Adam had 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and two great, great- grandchildren.
Adam, with his wife, owned and operated several businesses in Walsenburg, the Central Tavern prior to Corine’s Restaurant, Triple “S” Construction, Triple “S” Car Wash, and he occasionally made hauls in his Mack Dump Truck.
When Adam was younger he liked to dance and take his motorcycle for a cruise. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his sons working on the trucks or new construction projects.
After a hard days work he’d gather with his buddies on occasion for a cold one.
Everyone would call him “Jack” because he was a Jack of all trades, there wasn’t a thing he couldn’t fix or do.
Rosary, 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Funeral Mass, 11 a.m. Friday. Both services at St. Mary Church in Walsenburg, by Father Stephen Olamolu.
