Louis Galvez of Walsenburg, Colorado entered into rest, February 26, 2018 at the Colorado State Veterans Nursing Home in Walsenburg, Colorado.

He was born to Max and Katie Galvez April 14, 1921. Louis was 96 years of age.

He is preceded in death by his parents Max and Katie Galvez; wife Ruby Galvez; and his daughter Betty Duran.

He is survived by his two sons, Michael (Arzie) Galvez and Gregory (Tara) Galvez; eight grandchildren; various nieces and nephews, and other family members.

He was one of 12 siblings of which three survive, Stella, Florence and Robert.

Louis served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

After returning he worked construction, drove mail trucks, owned multiple businesses including The Busy Bee Café.

Louis also loved to hunt and was a member of the Trinidad Chapter of the LA Confederation, and served as the Huerfano County Assessor. In the 1990’s he and his wife moved to Pueblo where he had resided until July 2011.

He will be greatly missed by his niece Jan Kelly.

As per Louis’s request, cremation will take place and no services will be held.
