RATON — The Lady Tigers hosted NACA for a makeup game Monday afternoon and solidified their hold on the district title by going undefeated in district play this year.

It was a quick game as Raton rounded the bases with three players in the third inning to finish it off 15-0. The ladies started slow with only one run in the first inning. The second inning however saw the bats swing and send the balls flying. Errors allowed base runners multiple bases and by the of the second inning it was a 13-0 game. Three up and three came across the plate to shorten the game.

Raton will now wait for the rankings which should come out this weekend. Coach Tina Dorrance is hoping for a second place ranking but would be happy with a third. While Raton has won several games with class AAAA teams Dexter has gone 24-1 in the season and was also undefeated in district play.

State tourney play will begin on Wednesday, May 11 in Rio Rancho for the Lady Tigers.
