John Anthony Pineda

John Anthony Pineda, 81, of Springdale, Arkansas, died Wednesday, January 31 at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
He was born April 15, 1936 in the Bear Creek community near Walsenburg, Colorado to Copio and Benita Ortiz Pineda. John was devoted to his family and affectionately known by many as “Grandpa”. He enjoyed fishing, the Denver Broncos, and was a boxing coach for many years. John was himself a Golden Gloves boxer while serving the Navy during the Korea War.
He is survived by his children, Arlene Pacheco Duran, Roxanne Rodriguez, Dorothy Pacheco Shot, Nora Pacheco Lovato, John Pineda, Jr., Juanita Leal, Robert Pacheco, Christina Pineda Edstrom, and Alea Pineda; one brother, Edward Pineda; two sisters, Anita Velasquez and Patricia Martinez; and many grand, great-grand, and great-great-grandchildren. John was preceded in death by two sons, Edward Pacheco and Gilbert Pacheco, three brothers, and three sisters.
