TRINIDAD — I am running for the seat of Mayor of the City of Trinidad.
I was born and raised in the City of Trinidad and have been a life-long resident. I graduated from Trinidad High School in 1972 and went right into the work force opening my own business, Bonato Standard, and was an automotive mechanic until 2000 when a severe back injury forced me to retire.
I entered local politics before my injury in 2000. During that time I spent a total of 11-years off and on the Trinidad City Council and was Mayor Pro Tem for four years.
I was on the city council and helped get I-25 to go through the city, I got the American Flag placed on Simpson’s Rest, and am currently the city’s liason on the chamber of commerce. I believe that marijuana tax dollars should be used for capital improvements only and should be used for improvements on the utilities. We should hire two to three more police officers and two marijuana enforcement officers. I am Joe Bonato, and I am running for Mayor for the City of Trinidad
