Huerfano County Post Offices

HUERFANO- We all know about the post office.  We go there to either buy stamps or to send a package.  We may even get our mail there.     Of course, there are post offices we still frequent. Listed is the post office, along with the year it was first opened: Gardner (1871), La Veta (1876), Redwing (1914), and Walsenburg  (1892).

    On each of the post offices, there are cancelled postmarks available for purchase. Tioga Mine post office showed a postmark available for $10, with the date of Sept. 1939. On the next page, click on Colorado. The following page shows all the counties, click on Huerfano, and the rest is “history”.
