Grassroots – blue wave begins in Colfax County

Colfax Dems meet in Springer to select delegates

by Carol Bridge
SPRINGER — Colfax County Democrats met in Springer on Saturday to select delegates and to hear what several potential candidates for office in the upcoming election had to say.
The building was full of energy, new faces and old, who came to be informed and encouraged.  Franchesca Zoppe, Colfax County Democratic Chair, moderated the speakers.  The speakers filled the room with optimism and reminded the audience of the Democratic ideals and actions that have made this nation great.  About 100 people were in attendance and the room was full of upbeat people with real solutions to the serious problems this state faces.
The primary convention will be held in Albuquerque on March 10,  with Colfax County being represented by the following delegates: Erika Meadows, Nancy Poe, Jeff Carr, Cindy Carr, Kathy Trujillo, Alfred Tafoya and Jenny Garcia. The Raton Democrats will be meeting soon in order to find ways to make the party more visible in the town and to begin to make plans for the upcoming primary.
