WALSENBURG- Huerfano County is unprepared for a pandemic virus epidemic like the bird flu. While not much has been mentioned in the media of late, Indonesia is seeing increases in viral attacks that could reach larger numbers of people. The Huerfano County Commissioners have set up the community center as back up for the hospital and have a backup generator for safety purposes. Obtaining additional cots and blankets are next on the list.
The commissioners also had a phone conference with a Durango attorney to discuss how to set regulations for methane well drilling.
