Come take a taste at Raton’s Spring for Hops and Vine

by Colette M. Armijo

RATON — On Saturday, April 9, Raton MainStreet’s 4th Annual Fundraiser will Spring into action again. Spring for Hops & Vine has become an event that is looked forward to by the entire community. This event will take place at the Raton Museum from 5 pm to 8 pm. For only $15, each guest will receive a free stemless wine glass, complimentary appetizers, 8 tasting tickets, and will be able to participate in a silent auction.

This year, Spring for Hops & Vine will feature beer and wine tasting from Bosque Brewery Company, La Chiripada Winer, and Comanche Creek Brewery Company, all coming from within New Mexico. Businesses from Raton, as well as the participating breweries and winery, have all chipped in to provide an array of items for the silent auction. If you are looking for an opportunity to bid on merchandise from local stores or gift certificates for meals at local restaurants, this is your chance.

Saturday’s event is one of Raton MainStreet’s major fundraisers, and these funds go towards covering the costs of Raton’s summer events. Some of these events are the Cinco De Mayo celebrations, summer concerts at Ripley Park, and the Independence Day celebrations – which include the annual Balloon Rally and Fun in the Park. All of these are hosted by Raton MainStreet and are free to the public.

If you or anyone you know is interested in attending Spring for Hops and Vine, please contact any of Raton MainStreet committee members at 575-445-2052.
