TRINIDAD — The Trinidad Main Street Board and the Trinidad Office of Economic Development sponsored their very successful Deck the Halls Business Holiday Spirit Competition in December that turned downtown Trinidad into a festive winter wonderland of jolly Christmas lights and decorations.
Commercial Street Salon won first place and takes home the big prize of three months paid rent. Curly’s Bead Emporium won second place and receives one month paid rent and a free radio ad. Kinspire Dance Studio won third place and receives one month paid rent. Noah’s Ark Thrift Store took fourth and Skateland fifth place, each winning award ribbons.
With all the beautiful storefronts blazing in downtown Trinidad this holiday season, it was apparent that this years competition was fierce because of the coveted first prize. Each participating business had to have their decorations completed by Thanksgiving day, leave them up through New Years day and have their lights on daily from dusk until 9 pm.
The colorful, lighted storefronts, plus lights strung in trees and other special landmarks by the City of Trinidad, brought a lot of cheer to the community this holiday season.
