Business Expo, job fair and insider secrets to marketing: a one stop shop in Raton

by Colette M. Armijo

RATON — 2016’s edition of Raton’s 4th annual Job Fair has evolved into the Colfax County Business Expo and Job Fair. This free community event will be held at the Raton Convention Center on Thursday, April 21, from 1 pm to 5 pm. SL Start New Mexico Works Program, along with the City of Raton, Raton Chamber of Commerce, New Mexico Workforce Connections, Raton MainStreet and SER Jobs for Progress have all combined forces to host this event, which puts employers in direct contact with potential employees.

This year, the event which benefits both the businesses in Colfax County and members of the community, will also lead right into an engaging presentation by Pam Atherton – “Insider Secrets to Marketing for Your Business.” Atherton is a keynote speaker, workshop moderator, and award winning talk show host. She brings to Raton invaluable information geared towards small businesses and how they can, on a limited budget, market themselves and achieve maximum results. You won’t want to miss this interactive session, held at 6 pm, which will reveal low-cost and no-cost advertising approaches.

Anyone who is interested in growing their business, promoting their business, and finding employees will benefit from being a part of this worthwhile event. For more information, please contact Jim Schumaker, Job Developer at New Mexico Works 575-445-3689 or email jschumaker@slstart.com.
