THROUGHOUT OUR WORLD

Dealing with drug abuse forum with experts from across the state

HUERFANO — Huerfano County Farm Bureau will hold a Panel Presentation and Discussion about dealing with drug abuse in our area Saturday, January 12, 1 to 4:30 pm at Washington School Auditorium, 201 E. 5th Street. We would like to explore what the community can do in addition to the efforts of law enforcement and public health in dealing with drug abuse so we are bringing in experts from across the state to have a panel presentation followed by discussion on what can be done to curb drug abuse.

The topics presented will include: dealing with a drug addict, dealing with your emotions when a loved one is a drug abuser, and programs now available. We want to explore pro- grams that have worked in other small communities and what we might try in Huerfano/Las Animas/Colfax counties to curb the drug abuse problem. Small steps can have an impact, but the first step is becoming informed and deciding what we can do. This presentation is open to anyone in Huerfano and surrounding counties.
